Shopify and other stores

Connect a store today with the API or automation tools.

There is no Glyph app in the Shopify App Store yet. Today you connect a store with the API, which any automation tool or a small script can do. The pattern is the same on every platform.

The pattern

  1. For each product in your store, create the matching Glyph product and get it approved. Keep a map from your store's variant ids to our skus. Using the same sku on both sides makes this trivial.
  2. When your store receives an order, send it to POST /api/intake/orders with the lines and the shipping address. Use your store's order number as external_reference and as the Idempotency-Key, so a retried webhook from your store cannot create a second order.
  3. When our order.shipped webhook arrives, mark the order fulfilled in your store with the tracking number.

Shopify

Two ways that work today, in order of effort.

Shopify Flow plus a small endpoint. Flow's "Send HTTP request" action can call our API directly when an order is paid, but it cannot sign webhooks back into Shopify. Most merchants run a small service that receives our order.shipped webhook and calls Shopify's fulfillment API. A Flow for the outbound side and a few dozen lines for the inbound side is a day of work.

Zapier or Make. "New paid order in Shopify" → "Webhooks by Zapier: POST" to /api/intake/orders, with the key in the Authorization header. A second Zap catches our webhook and runs "Create fulfillment" in Shopify. No code.

The Shopify variant SKU field maps to our sku. Put the customer's shipping address straight into ship_to; the fields line up.

WooCommerce, Squarespace, Etsy, custom

The same three steps. WooCommerce has order webhooks and a REST fulfillment call. Etsy and Squarespace are best bridged with Zapier or Make. A custom storefront calls us directly from its order handler.

What a Shopify app would add

Install with one click, products pushed to your store automatically, orders synced without Flow or Zapier, and fulfillment written back natively. It is on the roadmap. Tell us if you want it; the merchants asking for it decide the order of work.
